    Description

Amazon"s Quick Commerce team is revolutionizing the customer experience through sub-30-minute delivery by rapidly scaling a first-of-its-kind micro-fulfillment network across North America. We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Pre-Construction Manager to serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading pre-construction strategy and execution across a portfolio of complex retail and logistics projects.

This role is ideal for a strategic builder who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can influence cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions. The Sr. Pre-Construction Manager will own site due diligence, design development, budgeting, permitting strategy, procurement coordination, and pre-construction execution while partnering closely with Real Estate, Design, Construction, Launch, Operations, Legal, and external consultants. This individual will play a critical role in enabling accelerated delivery timelines while maintaining high standards for cost, quality, and operational readiness.

Successful candidates bring deep experience in construction management, architecture, engineering, development, or owner-side project delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, operational rigor, executive communication skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority while driving complex initiatives across a broad stakeholder network.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own pre-construction execution across a portfolio of Quick Commerce tenant improvement and conversion projects, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and launch milestones.
    • Lead site due diligence activities, including entitlement review, utility coordination, zoning analysis, permitting strategy, MEP feasibility, and landlord coordination.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment with Real Estate, Design, Construction, Launch, Operations, Finance, and Legal to enable successful project delivery.
    • Develop and implement standardized processes, scalable mechanisms, and reporting tools that improve portfolio execution and support network expansion.
    • Lead RFP development, bid leveling, contractor and consultant procurement, and pre-construction budgeting activities.
    • Review conceptual and detailed designs to optimize operational functionality, constructability, schedule, and cost.
    • Identify, assess, and resolve permitting, jurisdictional, landlord, utility, and design risks throughout the pre-construction lifecycle.
    • Present project status, budgets, schedules, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing costs, shortening project timelines, increasing launch readiness, and improving program standardization.
    • Partner with Construction and Launch teams to ensure seamless transitions from pre-construction through project execution and operational handoff.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and influencing strategic decisions across the broader Quick Commerce development portfolio.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
