SUMMARY

Operates multi-line switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. Greets and assists visitors.

Salary Range: $20.63 - $23.18

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operates a multi-line switchboard.
  • Takes and relays messages..
  • Responds to telephone inquires regarding school programs and activities.
  • Supplies information to callers and records messages.
  • Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs them to the proper person.
  • Performs duties without direct supervision.
  • Operates all standard office equipment including certain data processing equipment.
  • Works cooperatively as a team member..
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Forwards or records messages from voice mail.
  • Operates office equipment such as copiers, calculators and computers.
  • Types, prepares, distributes, records, reports, correspondence etc.
  • Works on various assigned projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
