Reporting directly to the CTO and charged with being the in-house EE expert and authority, for this 90+ person company, you will have great inward and outward facing visibility. Their team continues to improve existing optical test and measurement product lines and develop new products that they manufacture and install around the globe.Senior Electrical Engineer (Instrumentation):RA's client is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Electrical Engineer to join their R&D Team and take a leading role in growing the EE capability within their company. The ideal candidate will own all aspects of electrical design within our client's existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to exercise significant autonomy and initiative while keeping stakeholders informed of progress. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also interface with clients and troubleshoot product electrical problems. This role reports directly to the CTO.Responsibilities:Conceive of and specify system level control architecture for newCreate schematic designs for circuit boards that are used in our optical instrumentation products. Functions on these boards vary but may include motion control (steppers and servo), laser diode control, incandescent source control, UART and CANbus communications, displays, microcontroller, and interfacing to various input devices.Maintain configuration control of all circuitLay out circuit boards and produce fabricationTest and troubleshootSpecify cable harness designs and work with mechanical designers to createProvide guidance to Production regarding best practices for integratingProduce documentation (design records and work instructions where applicable).Shepherd products through the CE certification process asQualifications & SkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or another relatedAt least 5 years' experience with schematic design and boardStrong hands-on skills (soldering, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers )Ability to write firmware and/or PC applications for testing boards is aExperience with FPGAs is aGood understanding of mitigation of susceptibility and emissions is aMust be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager toExcellent verbal and written communicationWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies andAbility to form good working relationships and lead clients to goodStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively in a dynamic environment.Strong organizationalOur client is an Equal Opportunity employer.
