This individual will report to the Manager, Supplier Performance Management Mission Next Division. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.This role is part of the GSC team and will be challenged to resolve issues and implement solutions, in a fast-paced environment – including process improvements, tools, metrics, data integration, and coordination and collaboration with key cross‑functional stakeholders across the MGMN. The successful candidate will hold strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written skills, and an aptitude for DoD contracting requirements.Engineer's Supplier Quality ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems.Assure supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.Interface directly with supplier personnel and be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.Conduct product and process verification activities, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root‑cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.Support the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically review supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting processes. Keep management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.Coordinate and oversee Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.Actively engage in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.Lead on‑site supplier engagements, including multiple‑person team activities such as supplier quarterly performance reviews and audits.Understand continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities.Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit suppliers' processes and capabilities.Lead cross‑functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals.Mitigate supplier quality risk to prevent/minimize business impact from supplied material defects.Proactively reduce and prevent supplied material defect occurrences and verify supplied material defect claims.Strong communication skills (both oral and written).Understand general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment.Establish positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in STEM with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Quality or Supply Chain; Master's degree in STEM with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Quality or Supply Chain.Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.Experience in root‑cause analysis and corrective action.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.US Citizenship required.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other Engineering discipline.Airframe Manufacturing Experience.Six Sigma or Lean certifications.Experience in auditing to ISO 9001 and AS9100, AS9102 requirements.J‑std‑001, IPC600, IPC610, IPC620, IPC6010 series and Mil‑Std‑883 certification.ASQ Lead Auditor, CQE, CQM Certification.Possess current DOD Secret Clearance.Primary Level Salary Range$123,400.00 - $185,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
