The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for developing the technical deliverables required for industrial process systems. This position is responsible for the development of process design parameters including design concept, criteria, code interpretations, equipment design calculations, and equipment specification and selections. This position is responsible for the overall system design for industrial facilities in one or more of the following areas: mid-stream, gathering, gas treating and oil and gas.AccountabilitiesKnow and understand the discipline specific scope of work, design criteria, and project standardsDirect drafters, designers and other engineers to complete tasksResponsible for preparing and maintaining calculations as required by the project plan for submittals for any applicable permits or client reviewParticipate in weekly calls as requested to verify scope and informationCheck work received from Designers/Drafters for correctness and qualityVerify that work meets Company and/or project standardsSign-off on check prints as required by project QA planManage projects and associated tasks as assigned by SupervisorDevelop written scopes of work, work plans, and schedules to complete projectsWork directly with clients to execute projects and develop new onesRegularly lead and provide direction to project teams (not including supervisory responsibility)Provide written project progress report for clients and management as appropriateDevelop proposals for new projectsOther duties as requested by ManagementMust pass random drug and background screeningsQualifications, Abilities, Skills, and KnowledgeAbility to perform under minimal supervision and make independent decisions on projectsAbility to interact directly with Clients regarding projectsAbility to handle projects requiring expertise in more than one area of engineering and design to fit multiple concerns and constraints of the clientAbility to proactively forecast and identify project needs and project performance issues and remediate as necessaryKnowledge and experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process design with strong understanding of systems and mechanical and/or chemical engineering practices and processesDemonstrated experience in the design of process piping, tanking, blending, and chemical processesDemonstrated experience developing process parameters including mass flow, heat transfer,material balance capacities and ratesDemonstrated experience in developing industry specific calculations for systems such as chemical balance, pipe flow rates, compression, maximum intended inventory, over pressure protectionDemonstrated experience with one of the following analysis tools: UniSim, HYSYS, ProMax or other simulation softwareLead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Sessions and participate in HAZOP studiesDemonstrated experience developing the system design including PFD, PID, Layouts and SpecificationsDemonstrated experience developing not to exceed horse powers and basic process data with preliminary informationDemonstrated experience identifying key process and system dataDemonstrated experience selecting equipment such as process units and instrumentsExperience developing sizing information for Process Equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators, reactors, etc.) and providing information in the form of equipment data sheetsDemonstrated experience with Battery Limit Lists including the line lists, equipment list, and initial instrument listExperience with logic diagrams and cause & effect charts for the facilityAbility to size and select relief valves per industry codes and client requirements.Experience with flare system analysis and final reporting, including the sizing of the relief valve inlet and outlet line sizingDemonstrated experience interfacing with the mechanical, structural, and electrical engineersDemonstrated experience with the management of key design-based documentsGeneral understanding of ANSI and NFPAExperience/Education RequirementsBachelor's (or higher) Degree in Chemical EngineeringRegistration as Professional EngineerMinimum of 8-10 years' experience as an engineerConsultant or operational experience preferred#J-18808-Ljbffr
