My client are looking to fill two positions, ideally with one experienced hire (5+ years exp) and a Process Engineer (1+ years exp). All candidates with a Chemical Engineering Degree and petro-chemical experience will be considered. The final position will depend on experience and how someone interviews throughout the process. There can be flexibility to re-order this if required, depending on the candidates that apply for the position. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (US Citizen or Green Card Holder).
The Senior Process Optimization Engineer provides process technical expertise and services focused on technical support (troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization) for operations to achieve optimum unit performance while maintaining and complying with safety and environmental standards. They are also responsible for small process engineering designs and support for project development within the area teams. This position interfaces with all departments throughout the refinery including operations, maintenance, economics planning and PSM. The ideal candidate for this critical role has multiple years of previous process engineering experience in refining or chemicals, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Mentoring and development other engineers.
Monitoring/evaluating unit performance and maintaining
effective monitoring reports.
Troubleshooting operational and process quality problems.
Developing solutions for unit optimization.
Generating ideas and developing process design improvement projects
for strategic and real business improvement.
Providing technical content for operating procedures.
Providing detailed process specifications and maintaining P&ID's and equipment
data sheets.
Completing process hazard analysis and process safety management
(PSM) requirements, including the completion of action items.
Ensuring full Management of Change (MOC) compliance in all activities.
Developing and monitoring key performance metrics for assigned units.
Providing guidance to operations consistent with environmental
and operational requirements.
Maintaining capital and operating expense budget.
Working with others in the refinery; must have the ability to climb ladders
and towers and wear Personal Protective Equipment.
Performing internal operating vessel inspections.
Utilizing DCS and advanced process control to optimize operating units
