Position Title: Senior Production Manager

Department: Operations/Production Management

Reports to: Director of Production Management

Executive Position Summary

The Senior Production Manager serves as the production focus group of the Production Management Department, accountable for labor performance, production visibility, system integrity, and financial outcomes. This role leads and develops the Production Management team while partnering directly with Regional Leadership to drive measurable improvements in productivity, schedule performance, and profitability.

Enterprise production strategy—ensuring manpower deployment, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and operational forecasting function as an integrated performance system. The Senior Production Manager transforms production data into executive-level insight and drives accountability across Operations.

Core Leadership Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and elevate a team of Production Engineers and Production Managers.
  • Establish high standards for analytical rigor, reporting accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Drive accountability, professional growth, and succession planning within the department.
  • Position Production Management as a strategic leadership function within Operations.

    Production Strategy & System Ownership

  • Own and continuously improve the regional production tracking ecosystem, including manpower systems, time collection, and quantity capture.
  • Standardize reporting processes to ensure real-time visibility into labor performance.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to scale and refine companywide production systems.
  • Implement scalable process improvements that enhance efficiency and data integrity.

    Financial & Operational Performance

  • Translate labor and production data into forward-looking forecasts and actionable operational strategies.
  • Identify labor risk, cost exposure, and schedule threats early and drive mitigation plans.
  • Validate budget adjustments and cost distributions to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Drive measurable improvements in labor productivity and margin performance.

    Executive & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Regional Operations and Executive Leadership.
  • Lead structured production performance reviews with clarity and executive presence.
  • Influence manpower planning, scheduling, and operational decision-making through data-backed recommendations.
  • Align field execution with regional financial and operational objectives.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction operations or project management, preferably with self-perform exposure.
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving organizational performance.
  • Strong background in project setup, labor forecasting, budget planning, and cost reporting.
  • Deep understanding of critical path scheduling and production-driven financial performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement systems, drive process improvement, and scale operational functions.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence across departments.
  • High level of financial acumen within construction cost structures.
