    Simco Mechanical Inc., a growing full-service mechanical contracting firm, is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Accountant with a strong background in construction accounting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of full cycle accounting, monthly financial reporting, and strict adherence to accounting processes. This position is on-site in Altadena, CA.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    •       Oversee accounts payables, accounts receivables, and published reporting integrity and all historical accounting activities. 
    •       Actively participate in day-to-day activities such as journal entries, reclassifications, accrual & prepaid management and reconciliations. 
    •       Manage strict processes in AR/AP, billing, releases and government compliance.
    •       Produce efficiencies and recreation in processes and control. 
    •       Streamline construction accounting processes, including job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
    •       Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects.
    •       Work in partnership with the parent-company’s team on processes & procedures and cadenced reporting requirements. 
     
    Qualifications & Skills:
    •       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).
    •       3+ years of experience in a controller or senior accounting role within the construction industry.
    •       Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and construction accounting best practices
    •       Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    •       Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
