Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

This position is located at our Milan Ohio facility.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW

Seeking degreed engineer or science equivalent candidate with 7-10 years’ experience in project organization, technical coordination and interface with project management and lead engineers to ensure technical deliverables are realized within cost and schedule. This is an onsite position requiring organized and proactive communication with all elements of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Senior Project Engineer supporting the HTF Program planning activities.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned subsystems or work packages, ensuring engineering rigor, compliance, and integration across disciplines.
  • Responsibilities include schedule preparation and resource coordination for the technical integration of multiple projects within a large and complex project. 
  • Project engineer will also be responsible for coordinating work progress versus established project plans with the team to provide management with schedule and budget visibility.
  • Prepare and lead major design reviews ensuring entrance/exit criteria are met and artifacts are complete.
  • Provide technical direction to vendors, review deliverables, conduct design audits, and ensure compliance with contract and customer standards.
  • Develop test plans, support qualification and acceptance testing, analyze results, and ensure verification/validation for requirements.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must have strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with facility design/development processes to support project planning is required.
  • The ability to maintain effective communications with project team and within a government contract environment is necessary. 
  • The ability to resolve technical and operational challenges in high-stakes environments.
  • Experience in the following are highly desirable:
    • resource/budget planning
    • leading cross-functional engineering teams
    • resource/budget planning
    • requirements analysis, risk management, verification/validation
