    Description

    Job Description:

    The Senior Project Engineer - New Product Development (NPD) is responsible for leading the technical execution of moderate to high complexity product development initiatives, with minimal oversight. Operating in Outdoor Engineering division and within the Project Leader chain of command, this role owns the technical scope, drives key design decisions and trade-off analyses, and coordinates cross-functional execution while maintaining full accountability for project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leads technical tradeoff discussions with product management and other cross-functional team members. • Demonstrates effective negotiation skills to reach a compromise when needed. • Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with very little guidance. • Tracks schedules and facilitates and documents project meetings. • Effectively tracks project risks, • Ensures component delivery via close coordination with US/Asia sourcing and supply chain teams. • Coordinates build readiness planning throughout the development process with cross-functional departments. • Exhibits vision and foresight to test the extremes of a design and guide the team members through well thought out, logical test regimes. • Present project updates, risks, and business cases to leadership.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field

    Minimum 5 years of experience in related field

    Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.

    Results driven and deadline orientated. Ability to manage projects to aggressive schedules and results. Ability to handle fast paced, and agile culture. Ability to adapt to constant change and competing priorities.

    Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.

    Experience working on cross-functional engineering teams.

    Strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.

    3-10% travel is required.
