Sr. Project Manager

Role: Project Manager – Construction and Manufacturing Projects

The Project Manager will lead construction, facility start-up, and manufacturing-related projects across multiple locations. This role is responsible for developing project scopes, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, managing schedules and budgets, supporting contractor and supplier selection, and providing clear executive-level updates to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Lead assigned construction, facility start-up, enterprise facility, and manufacturing improvement projects from scope definition through completion.

2. Develop clear project scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, milestones, RAID logs (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions) and resource plans.

3. Coordinate with site leadership, manufacturing operations, engineering, EHS, facilities, contractors, suppliers, landlords, and local municipalities as required.

4. Manage project execution to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, and business objectives.

5. Prepare RFQs, coordinate bid walks, evaluate contractor and supplier proposals, and recommend qualified vendors based on capability, cost, schedule, safety, and overall fit.

6. Track project spend against approved budgets, identify variances early, and escalate risks or change requests with recommended corrective actions.

7. Maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, action logs, decision records, schedules, spend tracking, business cases, and closeout documentation.

8. Provide concise executive updates on project status, milestones, risks, budget performance, open decisions, and support needed.

9. Support manufacturing readiness activities, including facility layout, equipment placement, utility coordination, material flow, launch planning, and operational handoff.

10. Drive accountability across project stakeholders by maintaining clear owners, due dates, follow-up actions, and escalation paths.

Key Deliverables

1. Approved project scope, schedule, and milestone plan for each assigned project.

2. Weekly project status updates with schedule, budget, risk, and action-item tracking.

3. RFQ packages, contractor/supplier comparisons, and award recommendations as needed.

4. Budget tracking summary, including committed spend, actual spend, forecast, and variance explanations.

5. Issue, risk, and decision log with owners and target completion dates.

6. Project closeout package documenting completed work, open items, lessons learned, and handoff requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.

2. 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, facilities, or construction-related environment.

3. Demonstrated experience managing construction, facility start-up, manufacturing improvement, or capital projects.

4. Working knowledge of project management practices, including scope development, schedule management, cost tracking, risk management, stakeholder communication, and change control.

5. Experience developing RFQs, evaluating contractor/supplier proposals, coordinating bid walks, and managing external vendors.

6. Ability to communicate effectively with site teams, contractors, suppliers, landlords, municipalities, and executive leadership.

7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, locations, and stakeholders simultaneously.

8. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts, facility layout, material flow, production readiness, and operational handoff preferred.

9. Construction management, program management, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, OSHA, or related certifications preferred but not required.
