We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Sr. Purchasing Agent to join our Luxury Residential Construction team. This role is integral to our success, as you will be responsible for managing all purchasing functions for our residential construction projects. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for our projects. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company's business goals.
- Manage all aspects of purchasing for residential construction projects, including sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and budget.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop accurate project estimates.
- Use Buildertrend or equivalent software to track purchases, manage orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Evaluate supplier performance and develop strong, mutually beneficial relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all company and industry regulations related to purchasing and procurement.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the purchasing process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the residential construction industry.
- Proven experience with purchasing, purchase orders, estimating, and using construction software.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of successful supplier management.
- Strong understanding of the residential construction industry, including materials, equipment, and services commonly used in the industry.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to company values and principles.
