Overview:
Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Sr Quality Engineer, based out of Billerica, MA.
Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.
Champion the following Quality functions:
- Ensuring that Quality, Manufacturability, and Testability are considered throughout the design process and product lifecycle
- Developing Work Instruction for Incoming, In-Process and Final Inspection
- Training inspectors on Work Instructions, metrology tools, blueprints and schematics
- Leading Root Cause and Corrective Actions to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality
- Ensuring the manufacturing sites adhere to Quality and Operations Standard Operating Processes as defined in the business’s QMS
- Collection and presentation of Quality metrics
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in identifying, aligning, and standardizing best practices across Rapiscan Systems global manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities:
- Own inspection Work Instructions
- Verify Operations In-Process tests meet the system requirements
- Represent Quality during the new product introduction process
- Represent Quality at Change Control Boards (CCBs and Deviation approvals) for production programs
- Build collaborative relationships and partner with the other departments to successfully lead quality initiatives
- Facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis, and other continuous improvement initiatives on product quality issues
- Lead the creation, collection, and presentation of data defined by the QMS
- Lead internal audits

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in engineering, business, or another relevant area required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Quality, Operations, and/or Engineering functions in complex manufacturing industries with significant regulatory exposure
- Product design and development process experience
- In-depth knowledge of ISO9001
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and/or ISO13001 is desirable
- Working knowledge of additional quality standards, product regulations, and certification processes such as AS9100, TSA, ECAC, EASA, etc is desirable
- ISO9001 auditor experience, with Lead Auditor experience preferred
- Proven experience in leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives, using quality tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, etc
- AS9145 APQP/PAPP, Six Sigma or Lean certification is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Pay may range annually from $120,000 - $130,000 annually
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
