The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. This role leads quality assurance initiatives, conducts internal and external audits, drives continuous improvement efforts, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure product and process quality throughout manufacturing operations. The Senior Quality Engineer plays a key role in identifying process improvements, analyzing quality data, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to support operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesOversee effective implementation of the QMS, including any business accreditationsMaintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for business, operation, and customer requirementsConduct the final inspection for all outgoing shipmentsOrganize and manage internal and external audits and corrective action reporting.Provide guidance and support to internal auditors during audit preparation and executionCreate daily safety and visual inspection reports to send to HQReport on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process, or systemMaintain the Standard Operating Procedure content and coordinate the issuing of these documentsLead continuous improvement initiatives within the QMS to improve process performance and compliance.Review, collect, and analyze data on quality procedures to continuously improve plant targets using the 4M processMaintain and repair laboratory machines as necessary and track spare partsTrain new line operators and engineers on quality issuesPromote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System AnalysisProvide quality information to customer service teamCommunicate with regulatory agencies regarding compliance documentation or validation resultsEnsure organizational compliance with applicable quality standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9000Recommend resolution of identified deviations from established product or process standardsCreate, populate, or maintain databases for tracking validation activities, test results, or validated systemsLead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities for quality issues.Participate in internal or external training programs to maintain knowledge of validation principles, industry trends, or novel technologiesMaintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, SustainRight Location, Right Quantity, Right ContainerPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree required, MBA or MS Preferred or equivalent, relevant experienceExperienceLaboratory or research experiencepreferred7+ years of experience Quality Engineering role or Reproducible experiment work in automotive manufacturing environment.Background with GD&TpreferredWorking knowledge of measurement and calibrationUnderstanding of manufacturing processesBasic knowledge of electrical engineeringStrong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)Knowledge of quality systems and Lean manufacturingKnowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9000SkillsComfortable working independently and with othersResults-oriented and perseverantCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsProject and process management skillsStrong attention to detailTechnically proficient and motivated to continuously improveMS Office Suite and MinitabFlexible schedule to address issues at work as they arise and to attend meetings based on overseas schedulesBenefits Overview100% employer paid Medical, Dental, and Vision premium for you and your family100% employer-paid disability and life insuranceGenerous Paid Time Off / HolidaysOpportunity to grow in diverse work environment with a global company401k Retirement savings and planning with generous company matchLG is an Equal Opportunity employer that values the diversity of its workforce.
