The Senior Sales & Estimating Specialist is a technical, customer-facing role responsible for cost estimation, sales support, and project evaluation, with an initial primary focus on the marine segment of the business. This position serves as a key contributor to the Sales and Management teams and is designed as a developmental role to transition into the Sales Manager position based on performance and the retirement of the current Sales Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as a contributing member of the Management team supporting decisions related to company policies and strategy.
· Promote awareness of the quality management system and customer satisfaction.
· Perform cost estimation assignments for fabrication projects.
· Read and interpret complex blueprints and drawings.
· Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to develop estimates.
· Prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
· Support vendor and subcontractor selection.
· Confer with engineers and customers on estimate changes.
· Prepare cost data for planning and scheduling.
· Track actual costs versus estimates and evaluate cost effectiveness.
· Develop cost monitoring and reporting systems.
· Conduct studies to establish labor and cost standards.
· Evaluate make-versus-buy decisions.
· Support marine and flow control business segments.
· Perform other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to estimators and support staff.
· Assist in training team members.
· Provide increasing leadership responsibility over time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· Strong sales experience
· Cost estimating experience
· Ability to read fabrication drawings
· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to support both marine and flow control segments over time
· Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
· Experience in Marine or similar industries
· Familiarity with Flow Control product lines or willingness to learn
· Demonstrated cross-functionality between sales, engineering, and operations
· Experience working government contracts with CMMC requirements
· Contract negotiations, PO reviews, and customer alignment to terms and conditions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent experience. Fabrication or manufacturing background is highly desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. The employee may be exposed to noise, fumes, airborne particles, and varying temperatures including extreme heat and cold during operational visits.
