Sr. Satellite Policy Manager (Starlink Mobile) Washington, DCSpaceX is developing a breakthrough Starlink Mobile satellite network to bring ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide via the Starlink constellation. We partner with telecommunications companies to deliver service directly from satellites to existing cell phones, with the goal of providing coverage wherever a phone can see the sky. Starlink aims to connect the disconnected and extend its reach to billions of existing cellular devices, including hikers, emergency workers, rural communities, remote sensors, and devices in emergency situations.In this role, you will drive SpaceX's regulatory and policy strategy for telecommunications regulations, spectrum, and satellite policy. You will apply technical fluency, creativity, and strategic communication to advance SpaceX's licensing and spectrum positions before international regulators and government bodies. This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of space, satellite, mobile wireless technologies, and technology policy with a world-class team.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead regulatory strategy and policy development end to end, delivering outcomes on accelerated timelinesAdvocate to optimize satellite and telecom regulatory frameworks in alignment with SpaceX objectivesDevelop and advocate for broadband and mobile spectrum policies to further SpaceX and Starlink's global successRepresent the company's positions in international fora, regulatory agencies, industry forums, and regional organizationsDevelop advocacy pieces, including pleadings with technical analysis in partnership with technical leadsDeliver forward-looking strategy based on spectrum, business, and regulatory policy issues affecting program outcomesAdvise the Starlink team on policies and industry developments affecting policy outcomesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:4+ years of experience in policy or at a technology companyPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:5+ years of experience in telecommunications policy or in a product, business, or regulatory role at a technology company within wireless or mobile industryExpert knowledge of technology and policy issues for wireless and/or satellite companies; technical expertise with mobile device standards and wireless technologiesStrong knowledge of wireless or satellite industry practices and/or spectrumExperience working with regulators and government agenciesAbility to jump into new domains quicklyProfessional fluency in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese or other international languageADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willingness to travel approximately 30-40% of the timeWillingness to work weekends and extended hours as neededThis position is based in Washington, DC and requires being onsite – remote work not consideredSR.
