Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Scrum Master position! This is a 12 month contract and will be onsite in Buffalo, NY 4 days/week and remote 1 day/week. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and mentor multiple cross-functional agile teams through servant-leadership, applying Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks to drive high performance and continuous improvement
Facilitate critical team ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure alignment, transparency, and actionable outcomes
Coach teams on advanced agile practices such as user stories, story mapping, ATDD, TDD, continuous integration, and pairing to elevate technical excellence and delivery capabilities
Drive transparency across workflows by implementing and maintaining information radiators that keep work and impediments visible to all stakeholders
Resolve blocking issues that extend beyond team authority or require cross-team coordination, ensuring teams remain focused on achieving sprint goals
Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to enhance organizational agility and promote consistent application of agile principles across the enterprise
Mentor and develop less experienced Scrum Masters, curating coaching content and sharing best practices to strengthen the overall agile community
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular retrospectives, encouraging teams to discover better ways of working through transparency and collaboration
What You'll Need to Have:
4+ years of experience as a member of an agile team, including a minimum of 2 years as a Scrum Master (or 8 years combined higher education and work experience)
Depth of knowledge in at least two technology team roles such as project management, user experience, business analysis, development, testing, or deployment
Proven experience fostering team self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement in an agile environment
Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices, with hands-on experience applying frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, and XP
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, facilitating effective collaboration and conflict resolution across teams without direct management authority
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse stakeholders
Understanding of Design Thinking principles and experience developing or managing digital capabilities
