Role: Sr. SDET Automation Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Local Candidates Only)


Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in Automation Testing
  • Mandatory Skills: Java, Karate, and Cucumber
  • AWS experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Position is currently hybrid and will transition to fully onsite; only local Chicago-area candidates will be considered

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test automation code supporting CI/CD pipelines, systems, infrastructure, and testing frameworks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks for test scripting, execution, and result analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor both onshore and offshore QA teams.
  • Train team members on creating, executing, and maintaining automated regression test suites.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to resolve defects, evaluate enhancements, and clarify functional requirements.
  • Develop automated functional test scripts using Java, Karate, and JMeter.
  • Perform exploratory and manual testing when necessary.
  • Promote testing best practices, methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Review and approve database modifications and project scope changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect systems and information.
