Sr.SDET - 8 -10 Years of experience (Strong UI , Web Services & Mobile Test Automation Required)
This position is Hybrid, candidate should be willing to come to work as needed by the project team. Local candidates ONLY, willing to attend In Person Interviews in Reston VA.
PURPOSE:
Responsible for developing, modifying, and executing software test plans, test scenarios, defines and solves for test data needs, automated scripts, and programs for testing in order to ensure the outgoing software and technical products meet and exceed quality standards. Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software engineers and product owners. Participates in the review of software design and leads the team in supporting the overall quality of various software systems and applications. Develops a strong understanding of the business processes being tested and mentors junior staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
40% Responsible for analyzing the moderately complex requirements, operational problems, specifications and change requests. Produce test plans and test cases to determine presence and scope of potential code defects. Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates. Perform test execution of all assigned test cases. Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions.
40% Analyzes test results to ensure functionality meets requirements and recommends corrective action if necessary. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of systems, application interfaces and application software.
20% Guide and mentor team of testers in support of the projects and day-to-day to testing effort. This is also includes supporting and working with associates, contractors and third-party resources.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Education Details: Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science
Experience: Min 5 years- and up to 10 years of Experience in software development and/or testing.
In Lieu of Education
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Job Description:
1. Accountable for analyzing User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and Prepare In Sprint automated test scripts for Web/UI, Web Services and Mobile application
2. Accountable for coding automation scripts utilizing tools such as Selenium, SoapUI , Cucumber and BDD Framework
3. Responsible to Create, maintain and update the automation framework in alignment with enterprise standards and best practices
4. Prepare test plans and test cases with pre-determined results. Executes tests and reviews test data within specified scheduled dates.
5. Accountable for analyzing test and operational problems to determine presence and scope of potential code defects.
6. Reports errors through a structured defect tracking process in Jira tool
7. Communicates weekly with management verbally and via written detail status report regarding potential problems and concerns.
8. Responsible for scheduling Jenkin jobs and executing automated regression suites and smoke test suites in CI/CD Pipeline
9. Develop and maintain business and technical knowledge through training, testing workshops, reading, and research, etc. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of testing tools. Expand business knowledge of product benefits, corporate policies, division and department goals and department procedures.
10. Coordinates with customers to resolve issues. Verify satisfaction of internal and external customer requests and obtain information to create test data.
11. Participates in project work group meetings (internal/external peer reviews, walk through, status meetings, Software Process Improvement, JAD sessions etc.)
12. Initiates Change Management Records (CMRs) or CareFirst Information Technology Tracking System (CITT) requests for necessary system changes or enhancements
Required Skills
" 8-10 years of experience in a technical discipline, 5 of which must be in automated software testing with core framework development. Knowledge of AWS and cloud testing
" Experience with test automation framework architectural design
" Experience with Object Oriented Design, and extensive use of programing languages ( Java, JavaScript, SQL/PL-SQL
" Strong experience with Selenium, Cucumber and BDD Framework
" Strong Knowledge in Mobile test automation (eg: Appium)
" Experience in Webservices test automation using tools like Soap UI
" Experience with relational database management systems (e.g. MS SQL Server, DB2, Oracle,) Proven proficiency with: SQL and PL/SQL
" Proven experience to create, maintain and run complex database queries.
" Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle (SDLC) models
" Experience in multiple environments and/or on multiple operating systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe) and technologies (.Net, Web technologies, etc.)
" Ability to work independently and effectively in small teams is necessary, and to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
" Individual must demonstrate initiative, work well independently as well as a contributing member of a team.
" Should be well organized and detail oriented as well as possessing good written and oral communication skill
