We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer III to lead critical security infrastructure initiatives across our organization. In this role, you will own the design and architecture of security solutions that protect millions of Ring and Blink customers while enabling our support teams to operate efficiently and securely. You will tackle ambiguous, large-scale security challenges where customer needs are defined but security strategies must be established from the ground up.

Key job responsibilities:

• Security Architecture & Platform Development Design and implement security frameworks, detection systems, and automation platforms across Ring and Blink Customer Support. Build Splunk-based security detections, monitoring dashboards, and investigative tools. Architect unified security intelligence platforms consolidating insights from Incident Response, Adversarial Threat, Insider Threat, Fraud, and Loss Prevention. Develop AI-powered solutions including risk scoring, automated threat detection, and intelligent response mechanisms.

• Cross-Organizational Security Leadership Lead security review processes establishing streamlined "golden pathways" for application security assessments. Partner with AppSec, Product Security, and Engineering teams to certify technology projects. Drive consensus across stakeholder groups and mentor security engineers organization-wide.

• Compliance & Governance Design security compliance frameworks meeting Amazon standards and regulatory requirements (CCPA, GDPR, FTC). Build automated compliance tracking with real-time visibility. Create identity and access management mechanisms with audit-ready controls.

• Innovation & Risk Reduction Centralize security controls and create reusable patterns. Proactively design security controls for emerging technologies. Translate complex risks into actionable recommendations balancing business needs, customer experience, and security requirements.

A day in the life:

A big part of your day is meeting with solution architects and engineering teams, reviewing technical designs and providing security guidance. Where time allows, youll volunteer for and conduct ASR reviews, evaluating new systems against security standards. Throughout all of this, you will mentor, and delegate some of the work listed above to junior security engineers. You will also work on projects like engineering employee-facing security solutions (including AI)-tools that make it easier for support teams to work securely without friction.

About the team:

Ring Blink Customer Support Security (RBCS CSSec) protects customer trust by strengthening Security, Privacy, Compliance, and Fraud posture across Ring and Blink Customer Support. We investigate sensitive escalations, analyze telemetry, determine root causes, and drive fast resolution for unauthorized access or anomalous device behavior. Partnering with engineering, security, fraud, legal, and product teams, we ensure rigorous case handling and risk reduction. We provide governance, audit readiness, fraud prevention, secure workstation compliance, and cross-functional program delivery through scalable mechanisms, SOPs, automation, and roadmaps to keep our organization compliant, efficient, and growth-ready.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
