JOB SPECIFICS
This Senior Social Worker position is a child protection position located on the Hiring, Onboarding & Training Team (HOT). The role of the Senior Social Worker joining the HOT Team will work in supporting our workforce, including training and mentoring new social workers in child protection, providing case coverage, helping colleagues navigate challenging situations, and jumping in wherever support is needed. The senior in this position typically carries a reduced caseload in order for them to be more available to provide support to the children's division.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

HOURS/DAYS: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $79,705.60 - $108,784.00 Annually

JOB SUMMARY
The Social Worker, Senior is a lead professional position with significant responsibility for performing complex work in the development, implementation, provision, evaluation and fiscal management of services, programs, grants, and contracts.
Client assignments of a Senior Social Worker may include more complex, sensitive or difficult cases than Social Workers l and ll and is also responsible for the consultation, training and support to Social Workers and professionals in and outside the agency.
A Senior Social Worker may be assigned duties in any of the following units: Family/Children, Licensing, Chemical Health, Adult Mental Health, Development Disabilities, Adult Family Services, Minnesota Family Investment Program/WorkForce Center or Housing.
EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field and four years of full-time work experience as a Social Worker in a public human services agency and/or a private human services agency that contracts services with a public human services agency. A Masters Degree in Social Work or related field may substitute for up to one year of required Social Worker experience. Required Social Work experience must have occurred after receipt of Bachelors Degree.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Semi-sedentary involving office and outside field work. Lifting requirement may include lifting up to 20 pounds. Exposures may include but not be limited to disagreeable odors, communicable diseases, bodily fluids and behavior challenges. Use of general office equipment to include telephone, cell phone, pager, personal computer, laptop computer, electronic recorder, calculator, etc. Additional physical/mental requirements that occur may not be listed above but are inherent in performing the positions essential functions.
