Job : Sr. Software Analyst Location - Pearl River, NY 1096Duration: 9+ months (Onsite 3 days)OPEN TO GC/USC/GC EAD/H4 EAD/H1B (they must be local)Interview: In-personJOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Software Analyst – Data Remediation & Legacy System Conversion to support a critical modernization initiative. This role is responsible for developing data remediation programs and SQL scripts required for the conversion phase of the project.The successful candidate will also analyze and document the business rules and embedded logic within COBOL and other platform-specific code on a decades-old mainframe system. They will play a pivotal role in uncovering the intricacies of legacy applications and translating those findings into clear, comprehensive documentation.This documentation will enable system integrators to accurately design and execute the migration of historical data to modern platforms.The role requires a strong understanding of legacy technologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.TECHNICAL SKILLS Must HaveAdvanced proficiency in SQL, including stored proceduresDemonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation for system integrators and project stakeholdersExperience working with SAR View, VSAM, DFSORT, and IDCAMSExtensive experience supporting and enhancing long-standing mainframe systems in production environmentsIn-depth knowledge of COBOL and the ability to interpret and document legacy system logicProficiency with QMF reporting, SPUFI, File Manager, and CA IntertestProven expertise in data mapping and functional workflow migrationSolid understanding of system conversion and data migration from legacy platforms to modern architecturesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex legacy code and extract business rulesStrong hands-on experience with COBOL 6.4, CICS TS, and DB2 (v12.1)Nice To HaveDemonstrated learning agility, with the ability to quickly adopt new technologies and methodologiesExperience with CICS Web Interface, web services, and API managementExperience with MQ or similar messaging and queuing technologiesExperience with the SCANA application, including development of integration modules for work management systemsExperience with utility work management workflows or other type of Utility Workflow.Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Java, C++, or PythonProficiency in PowerPoint and Visio for technical documentation and presentationsWorking knowledge of Agile development methodologies and iterative delivery practices
