Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Sr Software Developer, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Develop and maintain pre-trade functionality across the Securitized Products asset class with focus on the real-time pricing and automated quoting system for To Be Announced (TBA) Mortgage-Backed Securities.

  • Utilize C#, WPF (MVVM), WCF, Oracle (both database design and implementation), Solace, Python, and Tableau.

  • Contribute to all areas of system development, including client, server, and database, depending on business requirements.

  • Analyze large existing application frameworks written in C# and Java and utilize them for new development tasks.

  • Extend the WPF pricing application with new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes.

  • Develop new server-side Windows Services and WPF services.

  • Implement new reports using Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools.

  • Create Python scripts and ETL processes for data analysis.

  • Design relational database schema and implementation with Oracle.

  • Oversee hardware and software migrations to new platform.

  • May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]

Minimum Salary: $220,000 per year

Maximum Salary: $230,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
