The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Sr. Software Developer with IT Project Management experience (Part-Time, 1099) to support a federal government customer.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who combines hands-on software development experience with strong project and delivery management skills. The right candidate will be able to support multiple application development and operations & maintenance (O&M) efforts, work effectively in an Agile environment, and engage meaningfully with technical teams on application design, implementation, testing, and change management.
What Youll Do
- Serve as the Project Manager supporting multiple application development and operations & maintenance (O&M) efforts
- Develop and manage Agile-based project management solutions and frameworks
- Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and cost estimates; manage project budgets
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, gather requirements, and document outcomes
- Ensure meeting minutes and requirements are captured and maintained for all engagements
- Communicate project status, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders and federal IT leadership
- Oversee quality delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
- Manage change control processes and project documentation including design, implementation, testing, and user guides
- Coordinate and manage multiple contractor resources across projects
- Provide detailed timekeeping and reporting for billable hours as required
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Lead weekly project management meetings and provide regular progress updates
What Youll Bring
- 810+ years of experience managing multiple IT application development and O&M projects
- A developer background is required, including prior hands-on software development experience, not just project oversight of development teams; familiarity with Java and Spring Framework application development is ideal
- Expert knowledge of Agile development management
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills
Work Environment
- Approximately 90% remote work
- Up to 10% may include occasional in-person meetings, training, or team collaboration
- Must comply with federal remote access and IT security requirements

- This is a part-time 1099 contractor role
- Candidates must be able to pass a government security background check to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This process may take several weeks, and work cannot begin until successfully completed
