What You’ll Do

Software Development & Delivery

  • Write secure, performant, and maintainable code using Python.
  • Build and maintain microservices and supporting components.
  • Develop reusable solutions and shared libraries to accelerate team productivity.
  • Conduct and approve peer code reviews to ensure high-quality code and alignment with engineering standards.
  • Ensure production readiness by implementing unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines; enforce automation standards across builds and deployments.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of production issues.

System Design & Architecture

  • Participate in—and at times lead—design discussions and technical reviews for new features and systems.
  • Influence architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Apply best practices related to performance tuning, observability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

Innovation & Research

  • Leverage AI code assistants to enhance developer velocity and code quality.
  • Explore emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead adoption of new tools and practices supporting faster delivery and better customer outcomes.

Mentorship & Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance, pairing, and coaching to other engineers.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative, and team-oriented culture aligned with client’s core values.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise or cloud environments.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Backend development using Python.
    • Designing and delivering RESTful APIs, including authentication, scaling, documentation, lifecycle management, and publishing via API management platforms.
    • Working with API Management platforms such as Apigee (preferred).
    • Building cloud-native, event-driven, and serverless applications—AWS experience strongly preferred.
    • Data management, including design of performant data stores and access patterns; proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience using AI code assistants to enhance developer velocity and code quality.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile development and DevOps principles.
  • Strong understanding of software testing patterns, automation frameworks, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and best practices for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end concepts and frameworks (helpful but not required).
  • Experience leading engineering initiatives or cross-team projects.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or strong engagement in engineering communities.

Pay Range: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
