McLane is transforming how digital supply chain solutions are experienced-and we're looking for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to help lead that evolution. In this role, you'll develop and enhance Flutter-based mobile applications within the McLane 360 ecosystem, delivering intuitive, high-quality experiences that support mission-critical supply chain operations. You'll work at enterprise scale, partnering closely with product, backend, and platform teams to build mobile solutions that are performant, reliable, and user-focused.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Austin or Temple, TX.

    Benefits you can count on:

    • Day 1 Benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance
    • Paid time off begins day one.
    • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.
    • Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!

    What You'll Do

    • Design, develop, and maintain Flutter-based mobile applications that power key capabilities within the McLane 360 ecosystem.
    • Deliver high-quality, user-focused mobile experiences, balancing usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
    • Collaborate with backend and platform teams to integrate mobile applications with scalable microservices, APIs, and cloud-native systems.
    • Contribute across the stack when needed, supporting end-to-end delivery from mobile UI through backend integration and production support.
    • Serve as a senior technical contributor, helping guide architectural decisions for mobile applications and shared platform components.
    • Establish and promote best practices for mobile architecture, code quality, testing, performance optimization, and security.
    • Own solutions through the full lifecycle: requirements, design, development, release, monitoring, and ongoing support.
    • Participate in complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across mobile, backend, and integration layers.
    • Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and hands-on coaching.
    • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to align mobile solutions with real operational and user outcomes.

    What We're Looking For

We're seeking a senior-level mobile engineer who combines strong hands-on development skills with system-level thinking and an ownership mindset.

    Required qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including production ownership of mobile applications.
    • Strong experience building mobile applications using Flutter (Dart), with a solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns.
    • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, user-centered mobile solutions at scale.
    • Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
    • Working knowledge of cloud-based architectures and modern CI/CD practices.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
    • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

    Preferred strengths:

    • Experience contributing beyond mobile into backend or platform components when needed.
    • Familiarity with microservices architectures and event-driven systems.
    • Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical applications.
    • Comfort working in Agile, fast-moving environments with evolving requirements.
    • A passion for clean design, maintainable code, and continuous improvement.

    Why Join Us

    • Modern technology stack: Build Flutter applications integrated with cloud-native platforms, APIs, and scalable backend services.
    • Ownership and influence: Play a key role in shaping mobile architecture, standards, and best practices across the ecosystem.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, backend, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions.
    • Growth and leadership: Expand your technical breadth, mentor others, and help modernize enterprise platforms while staying hands-on.
