SR Software Engineer- onsite

The Technical Lead will drive design development and optimization of data centric solutions using SQL and Python in a hybrid work model. The role focuses on building secure scalable applications that support compliance related initiatives ensuring high quality standards robust performance and smooth collaboration across technology and business teams during day shifts with no travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data solutions using SQL and Python that support critical business applications and ensure reliable performance in a hybrid work environment.
• Coordinate end to end development activities across modules to ensure cohesive integration consistent coding practices and timely delivery of high quality features.
• Guide junior engineers in applying best practices for SQL query design indexing strategies and Python coding standards to improve maintainability and system efficiency.
• Analyze existing database and application workflows to identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuned SQL queries and optimized Python logic that enhance throughput.
• Collaborate with product and compliance stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical designs that support secure data handling and regulatory needs.
• Oversee code review processes to ensure adherence to security guidelines data protection principles and efficient use of Azure SQL and Python frameworks.
• Provide technical direction during solution design discussions by comparing alternative approaches and recommending architectures that balance scalability cost and operational simplicity.
• Coordinate deployment plans for Azure based data components and Python services ensuring minimal disruption to day shift operations and reliable rollback strategies.
• Document system architectures data models and integration points in clear technical artifacts that support knowledge sharing and future enhancements.
• Engage with cross functional peers to ensure alignment between application logic database structures and compliance expectations reducing risk of audit findings.
• Monitor production systems for data integrity issues performance anomalies and security alerts initiating remediation plans that protect business continuity.
• Support incident investigation by tracing Azure SQL query behaviors and Python service logs identifying root causes and implementing durable fixes.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to development tools CI CD workflows and testing strategies that streamline delivery while maintaining strong quality controls.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Azure SQL including schema design complex querying performance tuning and management of cloud based data assets.
• Apply strong Python programming skills to build modular testable and maintainable services that integrate smoothly with Azure based data platforms.
• Utilize practical experience in compliance solutions or regulated environments to design systems that support audit readiness and data governance expectations.
• Bring six to eight years of hands on technical experience in software development or data engineering roles with significant responsibility for solution delivery.
• Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to explain design decisions document requirements and support collaborative problem solving.
• Exhibit familiarity with hybrid work practices and remote collaboration tools to maintain effective teamwork and project momentum across locations.

The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $95,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
