Sr. Software Engineer

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a contract to hire position. This role is central to a large-scale ERP migration project, focusing on data migration from legacy systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate closely with the Integration Program Lead and a team of engineers to manage the migration process and support various integration needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement SQL-based migration scripts for data movement from legacy systems to D365 F&O.
• Collaborate with data owners and functional leads to develop and validate data mapping documents.
• Execute mock migrations, track defects, and ensure data reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain frameworks for data validation to ensure accuracy at go-live.
• Engage in cutover planning activities, including migration sequencing and rollback assurance.
• Evaluate and modernize legacy SSIS packages and SQL Server jobs for compatibility with new standards.
• Document legacy job logic and work to modernize ETL pipelines for D365 integration.
• Develop backend services and utilities to address gaps in the MuleSoft integration platform.
• Create custom data entities and scripts to support operational tasks and migration.
• Work on technical documentation and participate in design reviews to address potential risks early.
• Collaborate with business SMEs to understand and document transformation requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend or data roles.
• Expertise in SQL, including complex joins, stored procedures, and data validation.
• Experience in building or refactoring SSIS packages and SQL Server jobs.
• Proficiency in C# and strong debugging skills for varied data sources.
• Ability to work with incomplete system documentation and make logical inferences.
• Experience with large-scale data migration projects and maintaining technical documentation.
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 F&O, Azure data tools, and API-based integration patterns is preferred.
