Sr. Software Engineer - Web/Mobile/Responsive (Front End/Full Stack)

We are a fast growing start-up that helps homeowners save energy. We collect thousands of data points from each home each day via a communicating thermostat. We use this data to calculate heating and cooling strategies that save the energy without compromising comfort, and then implement these strategies in real-time. Our optimizations reduce monthly bills, shed peak load, detect faults, and keep homeowners comfortable.
 
SUMMARY
The Applications team is where our code meets the world.  We handle everything from mobile and Web Apps where consumers manage their energy usage to creating data-driven APIs for energy management at a large scale.  By creating the gateway into our cloud systems for users and partners alike, we're the team making it easier for everyone to save energy.

Must Haves
Delivered production Web applications with rich client-side functionality, using Javascript MVC and asynchronous RESTful APIs
Ability to dig into frameworks and libraries to troubleshoot issues outside the code you write
Create engaging UX with intuitive operation, visual polish, and quick page rendering
A commitment to quality code and best practices – including unit testing, automated testing, and actively trying to break your own code
A solid grounding in design, data structures, and computer science fundamentals
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, Agile environment
 
Nice to Haves
Web+native development with Cordova or other hybrid framework
Expertise with React, Redux, and immutable state patterns
Server-side development including business logic design, query and schema optimization, RESTful API implementation
An understanding of Web-based security and how to protect against online threats
Experience working in a scrum or other agile environment
Side projects or Open Source contributions – need not be directly related to this position
