Join Our Team as a Sr. Specialist, Environmental Health & Safety Level 4 - Make a Difference in a Critical Industry!
Are you an experienced safety professional ready to elevate environmental health and safety standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Specialist, EHS Level 4, to lead safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work onsite in a challenging setting with potential for direct hire.
In this vital position, you will work independently to perform hazard analyses, assist in accident investigations, and lead safety projects related to energetics and explosives. Your expertise will help foster a safety-first culture while serving as a liaison with employees, regulators, and auditors. The position requires some travel and involves collaborating across teams to maintain operational safety and regulatory compliance.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry requirements; experience with OSHA 1926 a plus
- Proven ability to perform hazard analyses, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Experience managing safety projects, audits, and training campaigns
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
- Familiarity with safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, ANSI, and PSM regulations
Preferred additional skills:
- Master's degree and 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing or related industries
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) safety standards (4145.26M)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and site schematics interpretation
- Understanding of munitions, energetic materials, and explosive safety protocols
- Experience with safety software, PHA, and PSM programs
Educational requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience; or
- Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of experience; or
- 10+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
Additional requirements:
- US Citizenship (no dual citizenship)
- Onsite work schedule, 4/10s shifts
- Ability to travel occasionally under 5%
