"Citi Trends" is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.You'll work closely with the accounting team on month-end close activities, reconciliations, and audits while also contributing to process improvements that help the business operate more efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and working in a fast-paced retail environment.What You'll Do Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepanciesPrepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reportsPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including bank and intercompany accountsAssist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustmentsCompliance & Audit Support Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirementsStay current on changes in accounting regulations and assist with implementation as neededSupport internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiriesAssist in implementing audit recommendations and process improvementsProcess Improvement & Collaboration Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiencySupport the development and implementation of new accounting procedures and systemsPartner with cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely financial reportingPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the accounting function and business needs.What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience , with a focus on general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standardsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools (Power BI a plus)Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential informationPreferred Qualifications CPA preferred, not requiredExperience in retail, public accounting, or a publicly traded companyFamiliarity with accounting systems such as Island Pacific or AS400Why Join Citi Trends At "Citi Trends", our Finance team plays a vital role in supporting a growing, community-focused retail organization.
