Client Overview:
Our valued client, a leader within their industry, is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to join their team based in Tampa, FL. This is an incredible opportunity to be involved in a hands-on position while being exposed to both finance and accounting functions. The Sr. Staff Accountant must be technically strong, have a deep understanding of US GAAP, and meet deadlines timely and accurately.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k - $80k

Position Overview:
The Sr. Staff Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance and primarily assist in general ledger maintenance, month-end close, bank reconciliation, preparing accruals, prepaids, and variance analysis. This Sr. Staff Accountant will manage due diligence processes related to acquisitions, converting them to accrual-based accounting and budget vs. actuals.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Staff Accountant:
  • Responsible for producing timely and accurate financial statements and other related reports, including account analysis and forecasting projections.
  • Perform month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and calculating accruals and prepaids.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash flow and cash flow reports and forecast cash needs at weekly intervals.
  • Manage end-to-end financial statement preparation and tie-outs, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements with daily cash positioning reconciliations.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, and revenues to project future activity and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Handle vendor maintenance and identification of 1099 vendors and work directly with operational accounting staff to determine variances in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
Required Experience/Skills for the Sr. Staff Accountant:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
  • Salesforce CRM experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
  • Experience working with multi-entity organizations.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions on routine office activities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Sr. Staff Accountant:
  • Experience within an industrial-based industry, including manufacturing, fleet, transportation, rentals/lease, and/or dealerships.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data reporting/management tools.
  • Experience with Avalara Sales Tax software.
  • Working experience within a private equity-backed organization.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree.
