The Sr Staff Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership across complex electromechanical and robotics products, focusing on systems architecture, requirements, risk management, verification and validation, and regulatory compliance. T he Sr. Staff Systems Engineer is a Contract to Hire opportunity and allows you to work Hybrid in Durham, NC. Responsibilities of the Sr Staff Systems Engineer: • Lead systems engineering activities for pharmacy automation products throughout the full product lifecycle, including system requirements, architecture, design, and post-market support. • Perform system-level risk assessments, FMEA, hazard analysis, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for complex electromechanical systems. • Develop and execute verification and validation plans, protocols, and system-level testing to ensure product performance and regulatory compliance. • Collaborate with software, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams while providing technical leadership, supporting design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. • Drive continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools. Requirements of the Sr Staff Systems Engineer: • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline; Master's degree preferred. • 8+ years of progressive systems engineering experience, including significant experience with complex electromechanical and robotics products. • Expertise across the product development lifecycle, including systems architecture, requirements, integration, verification and validation, and risk management. • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama Connect and methodologies including FMEA and hazard analysis. • Strong technical leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Compensation for the Sr Staff Systems Engineer: • Salary range: $120,000 - $180,000 • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
