The North America Amazon Private Brands Supply Chain team is seeking an experienced Sr. Strategic Supply Chain Manager. This role will own supply chain strategy and execution for our Consumables Private Brands (CPB) portfolio and domestic Hardlines Private Brands (HPB) business. You"ll partner with internal cross-functional teams-including category management, regional business managers, sourcing managers and operations-to drive best-in-class availability, speed, and operational excellence for our domestic supply chain. The ideal candidate will serve as the supply chain subject matter expert on inventory health, auditing buying and forecasting models, and driving process improvements across a high-velocity, domestically sourced portfolio. A key focus will be identifying and executing initiatives to remove cost from the supply chain, reduce cost-to-serve, and optimize placement strategy for both consumer and B2B customers.

Key job responsibilities

Own end-to-end supply chain performance for Consumables Private Brands (CPB) and domestic Hardlines Private Brands (HPB), including inventory health metrics such as in-stock rates, operational inventory holdings, and working capital efficiency. Partner with Amazon Private Brands category management, regional business managers, and sourcing teams to optimize replenishment cycles and delivery lead-times with domestic vendors. Evaluate and determine optimal ordering methods-including full truckload, pallet ordering, and drop ship-based on demand patterns, product size and dimensions, vendor capabilities, and cost-to-serve implications. Monitor and own KPIs including Out of Stock rate, Total Inbound Lead Time, and Purchase Order confirmation rates, presenting insights and trends to Senior Leadership. Audit buying and forecasting models to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with central APB teams including Product Business Intelligence, Business Intelligence Engineering, and Supply Chain Tech to leverage tools and insights for data-driven decision making. Identify and deliver improvement opportunities around demand planning, inventory flow, and placement optimization across a high-velocity domestic portfolio. Champion cost optimization initiatives, operational excellence best practices, and process improvements that reduce Cost-to-Serve and enhance customer experience for both B2C and B2B channels.

A day in the life

You"ll review performance dashboards to identify inventory health issues and availability risks across the CPB and domestic HPB portfolio. A significant portion of your day involves conducting meetings with key stakeholders including category management, regional business managers, and sourcing teams to align on demand forecasts and address vendor performance challenges with domestic suppliers. You"ll conduct deep dives on KPI trends, analyzing root causes of out-of-stock situations or overstock concerns. You"ll audit buying models, present insights to leadership, and drive process improvement initiatives. You"ll actively use and build AI-powered tools and agents to automate repetitive workflows, proactively monitor inventory risks, and streamline operational processes-continuously looking for opportunities to scale impact through intelligent automation.

About the team

You"ll join the North America APB Supply Chain team, which supports all Amazon Private Brands product families across both import and domestic supply chains. Our team partners across Consumables, Hardlines, and Softlines to deliver exceptional supply chain performance, balancing tactical execution with strategic initiatives. We work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on delivering best-in-class availability and speed to customers. The team values customer obsession, ownership, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement. We collaborate closely with APB stakeholders including Quality, Sourcing, Product Development, Business Management, and central teams such as Supply Chain Intelligence, Business Intelligence Engineering, and actively build and leverage AI-powered tools and automation to scale our impact.

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
