While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future.ResponsibilitiesWork within the Special Disciplines team and may lead a small Reliability team or projectDevelop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (doe) constructsRecommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliabilityCompile and evaluate performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processesEnsure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standardsEvaluate preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectivesDevelop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risksPropose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliabilityDetermine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specify minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid dataBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePerforming engineering analysis in Aerospace industry or Space SystemsExperience with Reliability principles, practices, and understanding of root cause analysisKnowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modellingExperience with subsystems to system level integrationDesired SkillsSpacecraft/Missile experienceParts Engineering expertise and knowledge of MIL-PRF screening requirementsSystems engineering and productionMissile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems EngineeringRequirements development, system design, problem analysis and resolution, and integration and testAnalytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems, and strict attention to detail; effective analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high accuracy within requested timelinesExperience in at least six (6) of the following: Reliability Program Plans; Reliability Predictions and Analysis; Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Availability; Maintainability Analysis and Predictions; Fault Tree Analysis; Probability Risk Assessment (PRA); Reliability HDBKS and Standards; Application of probability and statistics to support decisions regarding sample size, burn-in life testing and failure analysis investigationsStrong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPointClearance Level: NonePay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
