Position Requirements: Join our Enterprise Hosting Services team at the forefront of secure, innovative hybrid infrastructure for one of the nation's most critical institutions. We're seeking a talented Platform Engineer to help architect, deploy, and manage our AWS and on-premises platforms while supporting emerging AI capabilities, modern containerized workloads, and enterprise virtualization environments.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and maintain hybrid infrastructure spanning AWS GovCloud and on-premises data centers, ensuring compliance with federal security standards
Manage Kubernetes fleet operations across AWS EKS, on-premises Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), and VMware vSphere with Kubernetes (VKS)
Lead application modernization initiatives, migrating and optimizing workloads across cloud and on-premises environments
Administer and optimize hyper-visor clusters (VMware vSphere, ESXi) for enterprise workloads
Manage Splunk infrastructure for centralized logging, monitoring, and security analytics
Implement comprehensive audit logging, monitoring, and observability solutions across hybrid environments
Support security engineering initiatives including vulnerability management, compliance automation, and security hardening
Support emerging AI/ML capabilities and cloud-native solutions
Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment using Jira for project management
Ensure systems meet NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance requirements
Automate operational tasks and improve platform reliability across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
Contribute to architectural decisions and hybrid cloud strategy
