Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least 2 years relevant business experience or equivalent
OR
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least 4 years business experience or equivalent
- Knowledge of Publix accounting processes and an intermediate level of understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task, plan and organize projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and tight deadlines by working extended hours and/or weekends during significant financial accounting and tax reporting periods.
- Strong Skills to include verbal and written communication, problem solving, analytical, and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of SAP HR & Financial modules
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA with concentration in Accounting or Finance
OR
- 3 years’ relevant business experience
- Certified Public Accountant
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment tax and franchise tax laws
- Knowledge of state unclaimed property laws and compliance regulations
- Knowledge of the Publix payroll process and the SAP HR and FI modules
- Knowledge of tax research techniques and tax research software
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Advanced knowledge of SAP HR & Financial modules, HRS Pro, Bloomberg Tax, Microsoft Excel, CCH AnswerConnect
