Job Title

Sr. Team Lead

Responsible for directing activities of workers involved in and producing parts using technical and complex equipment in an assigned area. Leads and encourages a collaborative team environment dedicated to meeting departmental goals and objectives. Maintains work area cleanliness. Working supervisor for a team of workers including conducting/providing input on performance reviews, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

Position Summary

The Senior Team Lead for Advanced Materials Processing is responsible for leading daily operations within the ceramic powder production area at CoorsTek's Center for Advanced Materials. This role oversees a team producing high-performance ceramic powders that are critical to the company's advanced materials and semiconductor solutions.

As a working leader, this individual combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. The role also plays a key part in continuous improvement, process optimization, and alignment with broader manufacturing and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and direct daily activities of operators producing ceramic powders using complex and technical processing equipment
  • Ensure production schedules are met with a strong focus on quality, yield, and on-time delivery
  • Operate and support setup of advanced materials processing equipment, ensuring adherence to work instructions and process standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and PPE requirements

Team Leadership & Development

  • Serve as a working supervisor, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of employees within the advanced materials processing team
  • Promote a collaborative and accountable team environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Address employee relations matters, including performance management and conflict resolution

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor production data (e.g., workflow, scrap, yield) and identify trends, driving corrective actions or escalating as needed
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and production planning teams to optimize workflows and improve process efficiency
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to powder processing, material consistency, and throughput
  • Support process troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production challenges

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with production planning to align schedules, capacity, and resource needs
  • Communicate staffing, overtime, and production challenges to leadership
  • Partner with downstream manufacturing teams to ensure powder quality meets internal customer requirements

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, materials processing, or powder production environments
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a technical manufacturing setting
  • Experience with ceramic materials, powder processing, or similar advanced materials strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of materials processing equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret production data and drive data-informed decisions
  • Solid understanding of safety, quality, and operational best practices
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse workforce
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and production tracking tools

Work Environment & Details

  • Location: Center for Advanced Materials - Golden, CO
  • Schedule: Full-time, day shift or swing shift
  • Work Type: Hands-on leadership role in a manufacturing environment

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: USD 20.98 - USD 36.63
