    Description

AWS Manufacturing & Repair Operations =====================================

AWS Manufacturing & Repair operations is focused on automated assembly solutions where innovative solutions are needed to accelerate overall manufacturing time, working backwards from customers to increase critical capacity for AWS services by improving yield and reliability while reducing cycle time. This new highly cross-functional initiative brings together critical expertise from a wide-range of Amazon teams dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations through innovative validation processes and Amazon operational excellence.

We are seeking a Sr. Tech Ops Engineer Systems to serve as the operational and systems backbone of a new manufacturing and repair initiative at AWS scale. In this role, you will lead PMO functions, own roadmap planning, drive metric development, and ensure engineering uptime across the program. You will enable supplier partnerships and represent operational needs within SAP or other third-party warehouse management and ERP solutions, translating real-world workflow requirements into system specifications that support efficient manufacturing and repair operations.

You will work in an environment where the business strategy is defined but the operational framework, tooling requirements, and performance infrastructure must be built from the ground up. You will influence across multiple partner and external teams, shape senior leader decisions, and serve as the connective tissue between program strategy, operational execution, and the systems that power both-driving long-term program impact.

AWS Manufacturing & Repair is a part of the broader AWS Infrastructure Services team which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the teams who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and were looking for talented people who want to help. Youll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And youll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Come join our team and be a part of history as we deliver results for the largest cloud services company on Earth!

    Key Job Responsibilities ------------------------

    ### Program Management Office (PMO) Leadership

    • Own PMO functions for the program, including workstream tracking, milestone management, risk identification, and escalation pathways.
    • Define and execute processes and mechanisms for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
    • Represent program status, risks, and emergent issues to senior leadership with clear, data-driven communication.
    • Drive coordination across cross-functional teams including Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Infrastructure, and Site Operations to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.
    • Identify critical path dependencies and proactively remove blockers to keep the program on track.

    ### Metric Development & Engineering Uptime

    • Define, develop, and operationalize key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational dashboards that measure program health, engineering uptime, and process efficiency.
    • Establish baseline metrics and targets for manufacturing and repair operations, enabling data-driven decision-making.
    • Monitor system and equipment uptime trends, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective action plans in partnership with engineering and operations teams.

    ### Systems Requirements & 3P Solution Representation

    • Develop and document operational requirements for SAP or other third-party WMS/ERP solutions to represent efficient manufacturing and repair workflow needs.
    • Partner with internal technology teams to translate operational needs into system specifications.
    • Serve as the operational voice in system design discussions, ensuring that tooling decisions reflect real-world workflow requirements and support scalable operations.
    • Evaluate and identify gaps between current system capabilities and operational needs, proposing solutions and driving resolution.

    ### Communication and Team Management

    • Communicate technical and operational information clearly and crisply to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
    • Mentor and develop less experienced team members, contributing to a high-performing, inclusive program team.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
