Tesla is looking for a Technical Project Manager in the Utility Energy Storage space who will work directly with the Deployment Manager, Sales team, Project Owners, and other key stakeholders relative to their assigned projects in the region.

The Technical Project Manager is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for Utility BESS projects. They will interface with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services. Maintaining Teslas culture of safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects is crucial to the success of the overall operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project cycle for Utility Projects and oversee all field teams and installation.
  • Communicate with client on contractual obligations, schedules, and milestones.
  • Define elements of work and develop scope of work for subcontracts and manage bid process for subcontracted work.
  • Interact with a diverse team to communicate status updates and identify potential risks in project plan.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction-related discipline, or the equivalent in experience.
  • 5 years of construction-related project management experience, specifically within the battery energy storage industry.
  • Knowledge of commercial and utility construction, including practices and sequence of work.
  • In-depth knowledge of utility installations and wiring configuration.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process.
  • Ability to manage field construction activities and labor.
  • Extensive knowledge of general construction methods, electrical LV, MV, & HV construction methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple budgets and schedules.
  • Highly motivated self-starter able to critically think through problems that arise and experience managing matrixed project teams.
  • Certifications: Certified Project Manager (CPM) certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of NEC.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  • Valid drivers license required.
