    Description

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

As a Senior Product Manager - Tech on the Amazon Leo Antenna team, you will help create and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for WiFi products, with a high degree of ownership over critical features and the customer experience. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineering, design, operations, finance, and executive teams to envision, develop, and launch innovative products and services.

A successful candidate will be both creative and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy - with a proven track record of creating successful consumer products and services. Amazon Leos success requires leaders who are owners, and who possess the entrepreneurial spirit needed to create new products. Our leaders solve complex, and get things done.

As a Sr. Product Manager - Tech for WiFi, you will assume end-to-end product ownership over technical products to deliver services to our customers.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Manage the Amazon Leo WiFi product line life cycle from inception to launch
    • Understand and articulate customer needs, conduct on-going customer research, leverage internal knowledge and expertise, and prioritize feature requirements
    • Understand and synthesize wired and wireless technologies to define leading edge products for our customers
    • Be a passionate advocate for the customer; provide the voice of the customer
    • Inspire the team with the product vision, and work cross-functionally to bring the product to life
    • Write detailed business and product requirement documents and define use cases, features, and KPIs and drive tradeoff discussions and decisions with the development teams
    • Create the business case and write strategy docs. Determine the product ASIN and release strategy
    • Serve as the WiFi product expert assisting marketing with product collateral, presentations, whitepapers and participating with business development in customer meetings

    Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
