Interested in working with the latest technology in the cloud computing space to impact millions of people? The Joining Amazon Technology team is building innovative solutions to revolutionize the way we onboard 2.8 million Amazon new workers a year in over 60 countries. We do not depend on third party monolithic HR systems. Our software uses Amazon Web Services to intelligently work through the complexity of country and role differences, and ensure new hires start successfully on Day 1 with delightful onboarding experiences. We enable all Amazon business success to onboard new workers to meet dynamic business and market demands, and country and region holiday and prime day retail lifecycle spikes.

Our mission is clear: We seek to be the most technically proficient HR organization in the world. Our organization uniquely combines the highest standards of technology - architecture, scalability, reliability and performance with Amazon's desire to be Earth's Best Employer.

The Personal Information and Identity Management teams own personal information for all Amazon employees, collected prior to Day 1 and updated throughout employment. We own identity management, including duplicate profile checks, merges and rehire eligibility, and critical integrations with security services for account creation. This year we will expand to support family and dependents. We own STeam and VP level goals with dependencies across 15+ teams.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Invent and bring new technology solutions to life. Take new ideas from concept to delivery and production launch with dependencies spanning 10+ organizations. • Own end to end delivery. Apply project management and Agile methodology skills to track program delivery. Drive stakeholders and teams to decisions in ambiguous situations, including resource negotiation and priority alignment. Own communication to senior leadership. Make tradeoff decisions with the cross-functional teams to balance short-term and long-term needs, unblock development and increase delivery speed, and escalate issues effectively to find paths forward when teams are blocked. Analyze risks, develop mitigation strategies and proactively identify and resolve issues. • Guide architecture and technical design. Act as the technical interface between software development, Product Management, and our customers. Guide architecture, engineering and integration decisions and timelines with dependency teams and evolve our architecture with quality, robustness and Amazon sized scale as top priorities. • Make the right trade-offs. Understand the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and work with them to resolve differences. Ensure we ship software without compromising customer experience, usability, or business impact. • Delight your customers. Internalize our customer challenges and identify opportunities for simplification and innovation to drive better outcomes for customers. • Mentor. Grow and develop other TPMs across the organization.

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
