Position Summary:
The primary objective of this position is to represent Rockford Manufacturing/Operations on New Product Introduction (NPI) program core teams.
This involves managing the technical transfer of new products and processes into successful production.
This role is responsible for the effective product and manufacturing process development and transfer for new products using project management best practices.
Representing Manufacturing/Operations as a core team member on new product core teams, this individual will ensure all stakeholders within the operations functions, and within the project team, are properly represented.
This requires that all product infrastructure and processes are defined, documented, verified, and managed while reducing manufacturing and operations risk at each phase of the transfer process.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related field with 5+ years post undergraduate experience.
Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects
Requires the ability to influence upwards and across functions and businesses
Understands overall manufacturing processes and has the ability to proactively identify constraints and improvement opportunities
Understands the key concepts of lean manufacturing and ISO 9001 requirements
Strong project management skills and knowledge
PRMS, E1 and/or other ERP experience
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and V-Lookups) and ability to use Microsoft Project
Familiar with Design Excellence tools and principles: Six Sigma, DFSS, and DOE
Familiar with statistical analysis software such as JMP and/or Minitab.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred but not required.
