Parsec, a division of Universal Logistics Holdings, is a leader in intermodal and rail-based logistics, providing terminal operations and transportation services across North America. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service, Parsec supports major automotive, manufacturing, and consumer goods clients.
Role Overview:
This role is based in Indianapolis, IN and supports day-to-day terminal operations in a rail and yard environment. The facility plays a key role in supporting customer supply chains through efficient movement of freight, equipment, and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily terminal operations, including yard management, rail operations, and equipment flow
Ensure safe and efficient execution of loading, unloading, and movement of freight
Lead and develop terminal staff, including scheduling, performance management, and policy enforcement
Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, service levels, and cost
Manage terminal budgets, including labor, equipment, and operational expenses
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communication and issue resolution
Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, safety, and overall terminal performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in logistics, terminal, rail, or operations management
Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong understanding of transportation, yard management, and terminal operations
Experience with TMS/WMS systems and operational reporting
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a dynamic environment
