The Test Technician IV manages projects and oversees testing operations. They are instrumental in the development of testing procedures and standards. This role involves high-level troubleshooting, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

    The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage testing projects and oversee operations.
    • Develop testing procedures and standards.
    • High-level troubleshooting and problem-solving.
    • Mentor junior and senior technicians.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align testing activities.
    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of testing processes.
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
    • Evaluate and select new testing technologies and equipment.
    • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
    • 5+ years' experience as a technician or in a related field.
    • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of related experience is required.
    • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
    • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
    • Comprehensive understanding of test concepts and techniques.
    • Advanced knowledge of and experience with standard laboratory test, calibration and other measurement equipment.
    • Proven project management skills.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Associate's degree with a focus on Electronics.
    • Familiarity with MIL Standard 810 Test Standards.
    • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
    • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
    • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance.

    Essential Functions:

    • Perform testing processes on equipment, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
    • Conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting, requiring hand/finger dexterity.
    • Analyze and document test results, spending significant time on computers.
    • Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.
    • Ability to travel may be required.
    • For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
