Sr. Transportation Engineer - Surface TransportationFull Time, Aurora, IL, USSalary Range: $85,000.00 To $115,000.00 AnnuallyCrawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Sr. Transportation Engineer to join the Northern, IL Surface Transportation team. This is not a remote position.As a Sr. Transportation Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the Northern, IL team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment. Join us and help shape the future of engineering and consulting.Here's what you'll do:Planning, design, and project management of moderate to complex transportation projectsCollaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project deliveryProvide leadership in staff development and growth in our Northern, IL operationsDrive project development and pursue surface transportation-related workEngage clients, agencies and other professionals within the transportation engineering industryProject development and pursuit of surface transportation-related workHere is what you'll need:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field4 years' experience minimum with an emphasis in roadway/highway geometric design, drainage, transportation planning, traffic engineering/corridor studies is desired, but not requiredRegistered Professional Engineer in any state, or the ability to gain licensure in Illinois within one yearStrong preference will be given to those with not only a technical understanding of delivering highway engineering projects but those that possess a complete understanding of delivering a quality and comprehensive product, program, or solution for our surface transportation clientsStrong knowledge of and experience using Microstation, Geopak, AutoCAD, Civil3D software packagesStrong technical, written, and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal and active listening skillsStrong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasksAbility to work and lead in a team environment while mentoring staffAbility to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative and interact with a variety of people located in northern Illinois and other CMT officesStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutionsDemonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamworkIdeally, you will also have:Previous leadership experienceGeometric design, drainage, transportation planning, traffic engineering/corridor studies, project management with IDOT is desiredExperience in business development and staff supervisionWillingness to travel as neededValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordPhysical Requirements:Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects.Office tasks: physical requirements are minimal and include prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computerBenefitsCMT offers a generous benefits program, focused on four pillars: Health & Wellness, Work + Life Balance, Financial Health & Retirement, and Career Development.The expected compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 annually.
