Delivery Networks & Technologies team builds and operates the mapping and geospatial intelligence that powers Amazon"s global delivery network. Our vision is to provide the best solutions for Amazon Delivery Networks with a focus on safe, efficient, and frictionless delivery experiences. We build solutions that support drivers globally, leveraging innovative technologies including machine learning, computer vision, and large language models to enrich our in-house solutions with high-quality geospatial data. To achieve this objective, we manage a portfolio of vendors who supply critical geospatial data across markets worldwide.

We are looking for a strategic and analytically driven Sr Vendor Manager to join our team. In this role, you will own end-to-end vendor relationships, and drive commercial and operational outcomes that keep our geospatial data performing at the highest standard.

You will manage a portfolio of complex, strategic vendor relationships, leading negotiations, setting performance expectations, and working cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure we source the right data at the right cost. This is a high-visibility role that requires strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end vendor relationships and performance across a portfolio of geospatial data vendors, serving as the primary point of contact and Amazon"s ambassador to those vendors
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, setting KPIs, SLAs, and commercial terms that align with organizational requirements and deliver measurable value
  • Conduct rigorous market analysis and benchmarking to inform negotiation strategy and ensure Amazon is securing competitive terms
  • Develop and implement vendor performance improvement plans, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with stakeholder teams to understand data requirements, validate acceptance criteria, and ensure vendor deliverables meet quality and coverage standards
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the geospatial data industry - including vendor landscape, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies - to inform sourcing strategy and identify new opportunities
  • Report on vendor performance and commercial outcomes in regular forums with senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Identify and drive opportunities to standardize, simplify, and improve vendor management processes across the team

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
