    Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
" Product Development Leadership. Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle for the platform, from roadmap definition through architecture, implementation, release,
    and sustainment.
" Technical Strategy. Establish and drive the technical strategy for the hardened Android /
AOSP platform, exercising authoritative architecture and engineering decision-making across
    the software stack.
" Hands-On Engineering. Provide deep, hands-on technical leadership, remaining directly
engaged in system design, code quality, and complex engineering problems rather than
operating solely at a managerial remove.
" Organizational Leadership. Build, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering
organization, including engineering managers and individual-contributor team members.
" Security and Compliance. Ensure the platform meets the security-hardening, assurance, and compliance requirements applicable to the Company's defense, federal, and commercial customers.
" Engineering Standards. Define and enforce secure software development practices, release
cadence, quality gates, and engineering standards across the organization.
" Cross-Functional Partnership. Partner with executive leadership, product management,
program management, and customer-facing teams to translate market and customer
    requirements into technical execution.
" Resource and Talent Management. Own engineering resource planning and budgeting, and lead technical recruiting, talent development, and succession planning for the engineering function.

    Other Duties
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the scope and
    purpose of the position.

    Minimum Qualifications
" Fifteen (15) or more years of progressive experience in software engineering, including
substantial time in hands-on individual-contributor and technical-lead roles.
" Deep software engineering expertise, with demonstrated mastery of large-scale systems,
platform, or embedded / mobile software development.
" Demonstrated track record of taking new products from concept through launch and
    commercialization (go-to-market).
" Proven experience leading and scaling engineering organizations at the Vice President level or above.
" Demonstrated track record of shipping complex, production-grade software products on
    schedule and at quality.
" Strong command of secure software development principles and modern engineering practices,
including architecture, CI/CD, code review, and testing.
" Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
" Ability to work on-site at Sterling, Virginia headquarters.
" Must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Government security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications
" Hands-on experience with Android and the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), mobile
    operating systems, or embedded systems.
" Experience delivering software to defense, federal, or other regulated, high-assurance
    customers.
" Familiarity with federal and industry security frameworks relevant to hardened platforms (e.g., NIAP / Common Criteria, FIPS 140, DISA STIG, NIST 800-series).
" Proficiency in languages common to platform and systems development (e.g., C, C++, Java, Kotlin, Rust).
" Master's degree in a related technical field
