SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Sr Workstation Server Administrator for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC.Candidate will provide senior-level administration and technical support for enterprise workstations, servers, endpoint management, and application deployment. The role will focus on software packaging, automation, troubleshooting, and maintaining reliable, secure infrastructure in a fast-paced IT environment.
Required Qualifications of the Sr Workstation Server Administrator:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- At least 4 years of experience supporting workstations, servers, applications, or related IT infrastructure, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 architecture, system services, registry configuration, application lifecycle management, and security requirements.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting experience, particularly for software deployment, endpoint administration, system automation, and process improvement.
- Experience with enterprise endpoint management platforms such as HCL BigFix, Microsoft Intune, and/or Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM).
- Hands-on experience creating, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting MSI packages, MST transforms, and silent installation solutions.
- Experience packaging and supporting applications within Citrix XenApp and/or Omnissa virtual application environments.
- Experience providing advanced support in an enterprise help desk, desktop support, or tiered break/fix environment.
- Must be eligible for required C2 clearance and successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening, including a credit check.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Sr Workstation Server Administrator:
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, networking fundamentals, and virtual desktop environments.
- Knowledge of Python or other programming languages used for automation.
- Experience with GitHub, source control, branching, merging, pull requests, and repository administration.
- Familiarity with Advanced Installer, InstallShield, PSADT, Wise Package Studio, AdminStudio, MSI, or MSIX packaging technologies.
Responsibilities of the Sr Workstation Server Administrator:
- Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain automated software deployment solutions, scripts, utilities, and application packages.
- Establish and maintain standardized workstation, server, software, and application configurations.
- Administer and deploy enterprise software, including new installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration updates.
- Monitor workstation and server environments, proactively identify issues, optimize system performance, and provide advanced technical support for escalated problems.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment records, configuration information, inventories, tickets, and software distribution processes.
- Collaborate with internal customers, vendors, and IT teams while serving as a senior technical resource and mentor.
Work Location: Hybrid — onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with additional onsite work as needed. Columbia, SC.
