Senior Zoho Architect Job Description (Full Version)

Position Overview
The Senior Zoho Architect is the technical authority responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise grade solutions across the Zoho ecosystem. This role blends architecture, development, integration strategy, and platform governance to ensure scalable, secure, and high performing business systems. The architect partners closely with business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into robust Zoho One solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Solution Design
- Architect end to end solutions across Zoho CRM, Creator, Books, Inventory, Projects, People, Contracts, Marketing Automation, and other Zoho One applications.
- Design scalable data models, workflows, automation frameworks, and integration patterns.
- Establish platform governance, best practices, naming conventions, and development standards.
Development & Customization- Build advanced customizations using Deluge, JavaScript, APIs, webhooks, and Zoho Creator applications.
- Develop complex workflows, blueprints, functions, and automation logic.
- Create reusable components, libraries, and templates for cross team use.
Integration Strategy- Lead integrations between Zoho and external systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, ERP platforms, WordPress/WooCommerce, payment gateways, and custom applications.
- Design and maintain API based integrations, middleware flows, and data synchronization pipelines.
Data Management & Governance- Define data architecture, validation rules, normalization standards, and lifecycle management.
- Oversee data migrations, cleansing, deduplication, and large scale imports.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Excellence- Monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple Zoho applications.
- Optimize automation, reduce manual processes, and improve operational efficiency.
Leadership & Collaboration- Serve as the senior technical advisor for Zoho strategy and roadmap.
- Mentor junior Zoho developers, admins, and analysts.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to align architecture with business goals.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience- 7+ years of hands on experience with Zoho CRM and Zoho One ecosystem.
- Expert level proficiency in Deluge scripting, Zoho Creator, API integrations, and workflow automation.
- Strong understanding of CRM architecture, data modeling, and enterprise system design.
- Experience integrating Zoho with external platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, ERP, custom apps).
- Advanced knowledge of Zoho modules: CRM, Creator, Books, Inventory, Projects, People, Contracts, Marketing Automation, Campaigns, Desk, and Analytics.
- Strong SQL, JavaScript, JSON, XML, and REST API experience.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- Zoho certifications (CRM, Creator, Deluge, Analytics).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with enterprise integration tools (Zapier, Make, Boomi, MuleSoft).
- Background in SaaS architecture, microservices, or enterprise automation.
- Experience in regulated industries (education, healthcare, finance).
- Implementing student facing solutions in Zoho for Educational Institutions is a plus.
Compliance & Security- Ensure all solutions adhere to organizational, state, and federal compliance standards.
- Maintain secure development practices and data protection protocols.
- Escalate compliance concerns promptly and accurately.
